Sunil Fernando, CPA, MS, has over twenty years experience in accounting and finance, of which, the past seven years in pulic accounting. Prior to joining E. Cohen and Company, CPAs, Sunil had a supervisory role in the Assurance and Business Advisory Services Group of McGladrey & Pullen LLP.

Sunil has significant audit, accounting, risk assessment, consulting and tax expertise related to the followng industries: Not-for-profit, government A-133, government contractors, banking and retirement plans, CFO Act audits of federal government agencies.

He works with medium and large-sized businesses and not-for-profit entities to review their internal controls and make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness in business processes, procedures, systems, and controls.

Sunil has experience in preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, not-for-profit, and other tax returns. As part of his consulting experience, Sunil prepares budgets, financial projections, forecasts, and business plans for corporations and other business entities. He also has experience in evaluating business' risk management associated with credit, interest rate, operational, foreign exchage and liquidity.

Sunil is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Government Accountants. He is currently studying to become a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
